My New Favorite!!!

This is a 50th wedding anniversary.  The client explained that when the couple was married, they were too poor for a cake, and she wanted to give them a wedding cake for their anniversary party.  How sweet is that?!  This cake is massive! The pictures just don't do it justice.  It is chocolate cake with Vanilla Italian meringue butter cream.   All the roses were handmade from gum paste.  The draping is fondant.  I love this one.  It's just so elegant.

MY WEBSITE IS UP!

http://www.cakeattiffanys.com/

Go check it out!  I am NOT computer savy in the slightest, so I had a graphic designer make this for me.  He did an amazing job!  Thank you Stephen Campbell!!

Twin baby shower cupcake tower!

The client sent me the picute of the favors for the shower, and I came up with the design.  The 6 inch cake was Lemon cake with Raspberry cream and the cupcakes were: Chocolate with Raspberry cream, red velvet with cream cheese and Lemon with Lemon butter cream.   It was Darling!

Happy Anniversary!

When I make a wedding cake for a client, I include a complementary top tier for their 1st anniversary.  This wedding cake is special to me, because it was the first wedding cake I sold.  :)
The flavors were Lemon with Lemon butter cream! YUM!

Born To Shop

The shopping bag was Chocolate cake filled Raspberry meringue, milk chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream.  The Cupcakes were vanilla filled with chocolate buttercream and topped with vanilla meringue.

Hang 10 Cake

This cake was SO much fun!  This is an original design created for the client.  The flavors were Vanilla with Vanilla Italian Meringue.   It was for a 10th Birthday.  Everything was made from fondant and gum paste. The bottom picture is yours truly with the birthday girl.  :)

Sweet 16

The sketch was sent to me from the client.  The top tier was Carrot cake with cream cheese, the middle tier was chocolate with chocolate and the bottom was red velvet with cream cheese.

Better late than never!

I haven't updated in a while because it has busy around here! I seem to be filling up the weekends with orders which is AWESOME!

My nephew turned ONE!  Here is the cake I did for him.  It was a chocolate fudge cake with Chocolate Meringue.  It was DELISH!
the cupcake was carved into the dome shape and them covered in frosting.  The candle and bow are made from gum paste.   He was so cute eating his smash cake.  He's terribly shy and after everyone sang to him... he laid is head down right into the cake!

A birthday and a twin baby shower!

The first picture is Vanilla/vanilla with cutsie hot pink fondant daisies.
The second picture is Lemon/lemon with a raspberry jam center. The cupcakes say "Welcome Jenn & John's little tigers".
With every cake or cupcake order I fill, i learn something new.  Sometimes it's a huge lesson, like never leave a cake cooling unattended because someone WILL eat it thinking it's "extra".  Other lessons are small. With these orders I learned that some things are just uncontrollable. These were delivered in a torrential down pour, and while on my way to the second delivery, another car was impatient with my slow- i got a bunch of friggen cakes in my car- driving and decided to go around me, cutting me off and forcing me to slam the brakes. The cupcakes survived with minor smudges but it was heartbreaking to me. The client was very gracious but I couldn't help but feel slightly defeated.

Topsy turvy

I had so much fun making this cake!  The cake is a combination of marble and chocolate cake with a chocolate fudge and Italian meringue butter cream.  Makes my mouth water just writing about it.   I thought this cake was so cute, I had my photo taken with it right before delivery. :)

Sunny Days. . .

This Sesame street themed cake is for a little girls' 1st birthday. My  favorite kind of  cake to make because the baby get a smash cake!  The one year of your life when you get an entire cake to yourself judgment free!  The flavors are Marble fudge cake, with an Italian meringue raspberry butter cream.  Say that fives times fast! I'm actually sad I wont have a slice of this one.  And there was NOT any leftovers this time! Each of the Cookie and Elmo faces were cut out of fondant with an exacto knife, it was stressful to say the least, but i am happy with the end result.

Happy Valentines Day

Smooch your loved ones today!

Probably the cutest cupcakes EVER!

2  dozen of these bad boys went to a Valentines baby who turns 5 tomorrow.  I filled them with vanilla cream in the center (like a hostess cake).   I filled a few testers and the hubby and kids loved em! So hopefully the client will too.

Who doesn't love a ladybug? I love them!  It's the only bug I will let touch me without screaming.      The  ladys head is a yellow cake with pink vanilla cream and her body is chocolate with vanilla cream.  I surprised the birthday girl with this little cake.  Her mom had mentioned how much her daughter loved it, but didn't order it because she needed cupcakes for school.

Nolan is 2, orange and blue!

Chocolate and Yellow cupcakes with buttercream icing.  I'm pretty insecure  about my cupcakes, I guess because there is nothing really fancy about it.  It's so simple.   The circles and 2s are gumpaste.  Everyone in my house thinks they look great, and they were all a little pissed I didn't have "leftovers".  You would think with the amount of cake coming through the house, they would get sick of it. I already have.

Nemo cake

Happy Birthday Little Dude!

This cake is for my nephew, who is turning 2.  I was excited to do this cake as soon as it was ordered.   (surprisingly not always the case)  I loved making the coral out of gum paste.  It was a good excuse to sit down and play.  The cake will be delivered in New Bern (over 2 hours away from here) so I am a little nervous about the drive. A delicate cake, 3 kids, and a crazy husband of a driver. I already know i will be cursing the entire way.  Fingers crossed.

Blogging at Tiffany's?

I've always loved reading blogs.  I've always wanted to blog but am I the blogging type? Probably not, but here we go.   I'm trying to turn my hobby of cake decorating into something more.  This blog will be my journey. . .
